Skin Concerns -
Congested Skin
Clogged pores are one of the most common skin concerns and can appear in many different forms, including milia, whiteheads, blackheads, and enlarged pores. While often harmless, they can make the skin look uneven, textured, or congested, and may lead to breakouts if not properly managed.
Pores become clogged when excess oil, dead skin cells, or debris build up on the surface of the skin. This blockage can harden inside the pore, trapping sebum and sometimes bacteria, which causes spots or bumps. Factors such as hormones, skincare products, makeup, sun exposure, and even genetics can all play a role in pore congestion.

Although clogged pores are not usually a medical concern, many people choose to treat them for cosmetic reasons, to prevent acne, and to keep their skin looking smoother and clearer.
Common types of congestion

Milia
Milia are small, white, hard bumps that develop when keratin becomes trapped beneath the skin’s surface.

Whiteheads
Whiteheads are closed comedones that appear as small, white or flesh-coloured bumps when pores are blocked but remain sealed.

Blackheads
Blackheads are open comedones where trapped oil and debris are exposed to air, causing them to oxidise and turn dark on the surface.

Enlarged pores
Enlarged pores are usually the result of excess oil production, a buildup of dead skin cells, or a loss of elasticity with age, which makes pores more visible.
Treatment Options:
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliating treatment that clears clogged pores and refreshes the skin’s surface. Using the COMCIT machine, fine crystals or a diamond-tipped wand gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating circulation and renewal.
This helps to unclog pores, smooth uneven texture, and restore a clearer, brighter complexion.
It is particularly effective for blackheads, whiteheads, enlarged pores, and general congestion, and can also improve the absorption of active serums applied afterwards.
Microdermabrasion may help with very superficial milia, but for stubborn milia we also offer an add-on precise milia extraction to safely remove them. Many clients choose microdermabrasion not only to clear congestion but also as a regular maintenance treatment to keep their skin smooth, clear, and healthy.

Chemical Peels for Congested Skin
Our Glo Skin Beauty chemical peels are professional-grade resurfacing treatments designed to safely and effectively clear clogged pores and improve skin texture. By applying a carefully selected solution to the skin, peels dissolve excess oil, debris, and dead skin cells that block pores, revealing fresher, smoother, and clearer skin underneath.

Peels are particularly effective for congested and breakout-prone skin, helping to reduce blackheads, whiteheads, and enlarged pores while also preventing new congestion from forming. At the same time, they stimulate cell renewal and boost collagen production, gradually refining skin texture and improving clarity over time.
Every peel is tailored to your skin type and concerns to achieve the best results.

Please note: All new clients must begin with the Level 3 Flower Enzyme Peel, regardless of whether they have had chemical peels elsewhere. After this, progression to Levels 4, 5, and 6 is possible, but mandatory at-home skin preparation is required before Levels 4–6.
